Habitat
pour Haïti works in Haïti with a team of reliable local workers.
They make sure they regularly have contact with
the sponsored children and their parents. In addition, they
select the most vulnerable and motivated people to start their
own little business.
Our board is very
happy with the team in Haïti and their ability to look
after the affairs.
As a result, a board visit from The Netherlands can be limited
to 1-2 times per year. Unfortunately, the situation in Haïti
is
still
very dangerous, especially for white people. The members
of the board have regular contact with Eddy, the team leader
in Haïti. They monitor all activities, as well
as
special situations that require immediate action, such as
the illness of a child and/or the need for an operation.
