Thousands of families live under leaking roofs and on floors half covered by incoming water. Some of the dwellings, however, have been renovated with money given by Habitat pour Haïti.

The building of latrines makes it possible to have some basic hygiene in the homes. By employing local, unemployed builders, the latrines was completed. The building plans are now a part of a community development plan.
