Most
inhabitants of Haïti can not go to a doctor, simply because
they can not afford it. Habitat pour Haïti has found a Haïtian
doctor who studied abroad and came back (as one of the few) to
his native country. The foundation pays him to give medical care
to the people, including 10 pregnant women. We hope this will
help decrease the
mortality
rate amongst children.
Most sick children will get better,
because of the care they get from Dr. Théodore. Recently,
one child urgently needed a €1.200 groin operation.
Habitat pour Haïti wanted to raise the funds for this operation.
Thanks to one of our sponsors who contibuted the money, the
operation was a success.
Sometimes we hear that the mother of one of
our sponsor children has become seriously ill. If we hear such
news, we always consider ‘Should we help her or not?’ If
we can, we also try to help her, but unfortunately our means
are limited. |
